Archbishop William Hudson, III

Presiding Prelate

Archbishop William Hudson III serves as the Presiding Prelate of Pilgrim Assemblies International, with spiritual oversight and a sincere commitment to serving God’s people with integrity, care, and faithfulness.

His call to ministry was evident early in life. At the age of three, he began preaching from a picture Bible, and by eight years old he delivered his first public sermon. As his passion for ministry grew, he began holding gatherings in his backyard—efforts that continued until his parents converted their basement into a space capable of hosting church services.

At age 12, he was licensed and ordained under the leadership of Reverend F. D. Johnson at Zion Temple Missionary Baptist Church. That same year, he appeared in the sitcom Amen as “Rev. Johnny,” an experience that broadened his platform while reinforcing his desire to devote his life to ministry.

In December 1990, Archbishop Hudson transitioned into full-time pastoral service with the establishment of Prayer and Faith Outreach Ministries—now known as The Powerhouse Chicago. The ministry began worshipping at 6907 South Halsted Street in Chicago and later relocated to 944 West 103rd Street. Under his leadership and the faithful work of many servants and leaders, the congregation has grown to more than 3,000 members across three Sunday services and multiple weekday services. The ministry remains anchored in Daniel 1:20, with a focus on helping believers grow in wisdom, excellence, and spiritual maturity—becoming “10X Better.”

Archbishop Hudson values preparation and stewardship in ministry. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech from Chicago State University in December 1995 and a Master of Divinity degree from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in June 2000.

In August 2004, he married Lady Andria Hudson, a gifted writer and entrepreneur who serves faithfully in pastoral ministry at The Powerhouse Chicago.

In July 2010, Archbishop Hudson was selected by Archbishop Roy E. Brown, the founding prelate and patriarch of Pilgrim Assemblies International, to be consecrated to the office of Bishop. On April 5, 2016, he was enthroned as Chief Prelate and Presiding Bishop of Pilgrim Assemblies International, accepting the assignment to strengthen churches, develop leaders, and serve the broader fellowship with humility and purpose. He has ministered in more than 40 states and preached internationally.

Known for clear teaching, steady leadership, and a heart for worship, Archbishop Hudson seeks to point people to Christ, build healthy ministry foundations, and equip believers for faithful service. With gratitude for those who labor alongside him, he remains committed to advancing the Gospel and helping God’s people grow into the fullness of what God has ordained.
